2. Postgraduate Studies

 

1998 – 2003:  PhD in Communication Networks, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, under the supervision of Professor M. Anagnostou
Her Thesis, entitled "3G Architecture, Coordination, Roaming, and Licencing in Virtual Home Environment Systems", focused on the efficient design, development, and deployment of Virtual Home Environment Systems and Services in Third Generation communication networks.

 PhD Grade: 10 (Excellent)

 

2002 – 2004:   Completed the "Tehno-Economical Systems" Inter – Departmental Postgraduate Course, offered by the National Technical University of Athens, the University of Athens, and the University of Piraeus. Her Thesis, supervised by Assistant Professor L. Pechlivanos, was entitled "Efficient Framework and Strategy Design for the Next Generation Electronic Market", and focused on next generation e-market negotiations.

Degree: 9.59 (Excellent)

 

3. Research

 

Since 1998 she has been very active in research, producing numerous scientific papers and participating in national and international conferences and projects in various relevant areas of communications and IT, as shown below:

She has extensive published scientific work. Apart from her Theses (PhD and Tehno-Economical Systems), she has published more than 80 papers in international conferences, journals, and books.

These papers include theoretic and applied scientific results from her work in national and international research projects.

She has been an associate of the Telecommunications and Computer Networks Laboratories of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens since 1998. Within this cooperation she has had the chance to participate in numerous national (funded by various public organisations, as well as private companies) and international (EU-funded) researh and development projects (i.e. Daidalos II, Amigo, Daidalos, Context, Vesper, Smart-EC, Montage, Archimeded, Protagoras, Mesudemo, Marine, Pice, Aroma), focusing on the design, development, evaluation, and optimization of information and communication systems.

Her role in these projects was that of a project group manager, architecture designer, technical contributor, SW designer, and SW developer, while she has also actively participated in the preparation and submission of numerous greek and European FP5, FP6, and FP7 Information and Communication Technologies Research and Development proposals. She has also conducted various studies for the First National Committee of E-Commerce and the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission, while she has often participated in prototype ICT testbed setup, and evaluation.

Finally, she was offered a private, fixed term employment contract to teach the lessons "Analog and Digital Communication Systems" and "Internet Applications" (6th and 8th semester, respectively) for the summer semester of 2006, in a position equivalent to that of a Lecturer, in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.

She has been an evaluator, as well as a member of the organising and technical committee in various international conferences, such as the First IEEE International Workshop on Services Integration in Pervasive Environments (SIPE06), the Third International Conference on Intelligent Environments 2007 (ΙΕ07), the Second International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services (ICIW07), the Fiftieth Annual IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM2007), the Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing (UBICOMP2007), and the Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services (ICIW08).

She has been a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 1998.

She has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2001.

She has been a member of the Autonomic Communications Forum (ACF) since 2004.

She has been a member of the e-Mobility Forum since 2005.
